Manhattan Endoscopy is New York’s newest and most modern endoscopy center. Bringing together 30 of Manhattan’s most established and respected physicians, the center aims to make each patient’s procedure as efficient and pleasant as possible.
Located on 44th street between Fifth and Madison Avenues, the site is easily accessible to New York City and tri-state area patients. The facility has been designed to maintain the personal attention of an office-based procedure while ensuring hospital level safety standards.
Manhattan Endoscopy Center is Joint Commission certified and an ASGE Center of Excellence. MEC is a committed member of the NYC Colonoscopy Quality Benchmarking and strives for colon cancer awareness and prevention by offering free screenings for those patients with limited income and no insurance through the MEC’s charitable care program.
Giving Back
Since 1879, The Bowery Mission has served New York’s poor, homeless and hungry population. Each Wednesday evening, a team of volunteer doctors and medical professionals offer medical services for homeless New Yorkers at The Mission. Services offered include colonoscopies performed by volunteer physicians including our team at Manhattan Endoscopy Center.

Similar to a colonoscopy, a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy occurs when a physician needs to appraise the lining of the rectum and the large intestine
Upper Endoscopy
Sometimes referred to as upper GI endoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), or panendoscopy, the upper endoscopy occurs when a physician needs to appraise the lining of the upper part of the patient’s GI tract; including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
