NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and family support services to the residents of Central Harlem, West Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood.

We anticipated today’s health issues long ago, instituting wellness programs, measuring patient satisfaction, and implementing quality review programs to assure that our patients receive the highest quality health care.

The hospital is a 272-bed acute care facility and a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full spectrum of specialty services, including a burn unit, an adult intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a cardiac care unit.

- Went here for emergency tooth pain and I have to say thank you so much to Dr. Hardy, Ms. Blackett, Ms. Simmons, ladies at the front desk, and the lady whom so kindly let me know when I would be seen ....just to name a few. I understand it's a process to to be able to help so many people. I had no other choice but to bring my kid with me and they were phenomenal. The level of care was great give this hospital credit because let's be honest a lot of other hospitals, offices and clinics aren't caring at all and it shows. Very professional place from top to bottom. Tooth pain isn't a joke, thank you. Nothing but blessings.

- Omg best place ever honestly I had the best experience I was nervous at first but then the doctors the nurse they are so caring loving making sure you are good and happy at the end most important safe delivery.

- Dr . Christopher Crawford from the dental department is truly amazing !!!!!! His patience is on another level. I had to wait for a clearance from my regular doctor in order to get an extraction but they took so long. Dr.Crawford made a lot of calls to make sure I get that clearance , he wasn’t upset or anything and was ready to help. Thank you so much Dr.Crawford !!!!!

Excellent trauma surgeon, some awful nursing staff. My child was the only one in the ICU and we were completely on our own while the nurses chatted loudly about an upcoming cruise. When I requested help to wash down my child (with a head trauma and a broken arm) I was told "you can do it yourself. He can walk". Many of nurses literally could not care less about the patients. Over the few day hospital stay there was only one nurse who cared for my son properly.

When my wife and I arrived in NEW YORK from Colombia, I was AFRAID of this city, the capital of the world is an honorable mention that can only be admired from the outside, because the Yorker sees the way to do everything as very normal, the rigor of jobs, punctuality in appointments, the millions of people who travel on the subway rushing to reach their destinations, it is crazy to live in the multiculture of QUEENS, the challenge of aligning with its strict authorities, working among the rude BROOKLYN and the cosmopolitan MANHATTAN (glamor and asphalt), the demands of the tourist sector, being able to buy my first car in the STATEN ISLAND residential area, the Bronx that still smells to SALSA MUSIC, after 5 years in this city in Nov/23 we had my daughter (GIANNA) at the HARLEM CENTER HOSPITAL and I understood that fear what I felt was because I was not up to par with this city. I am still surprised. The hospital team is an example of cultural diversity and the most efficient and friendly service I could imagine, effort, quality, availability, good energy, coverage. comprehensive, the team is incredible, INFINITE THANKS to doctors and nurses: Campbell, Odesa, Luci, Oudi, Thomas, Bailey! Renee, Bubu, Julia, and those who helped me in these 3 wonderful days, social worker Cardenas, security team, cleaning team (impeccable), food team (the farewell dinner was too special), team of technicians, In general, HARLEM HOSPITAL CENTER is one of the reasons why I will live eternally grateful to NEW YORK and its hospitality, its people and the desire to remain being the first city… in the first country of the world.

If I can give 0 stars I would. Currently I'm located in a different state and my dad was sent to this hospital by the ambulance. The amount of times I had to drive 3 hrs to this hospital for them to do their job is insane. Since Saturday my dad been on the 14th floor and I've been trying to get a transfer, it is now Thursday and he's still on that floor. This hospital doesn't have an acute unit which is for patients that need physical therapy and they're just ignoring the fact that my father needs his therapy because they have yet to transfer him. I will be getting contacting the department of health and the higher up because at this point they're neglecting his needs. So unprofessional and the nurses and doctors can care less about their patients avoid this hospital.

I was born at this hospital and I will say this they will have you running back and forth waiting for appointments. They don’t tell me what’s really going on with me I got to go to another hospital to get checked out because here they seem so busy . All over the place they try to get you in and out . I asked to get a sonogram because I was having pain in my stomach n they had me do a xray scan and dismissed me . Prescribed me pills for something I possibly don’t even have . Communication skills is very much needed to be worked on there . Horrible .

Michael Poponi -Harlem | NYC Health + Hospitals-Behavioral Health 506 Lenox Ave, New York, NY 10037 decided to participate in Housing discrimination business practices as a result of my disability status and complaints made in good faith against Mr.Michael Poponi to Adult Protect Services. Michael should not be working with people with disability and should be fired for taking patient grievances against him personal in violation of the patient bill of rights and retaliating against patients by deny services

Este Hopital tiene atodos el mundo junto no los recomiendo los niños y los adurto en las misma salas para aserse xR no megusta al mucho adurto con palabras fuerte no es para nadas recomendable

Not going to write an essay. Going to get to the point. Outrage regarding the unprofessional medical staff at Harlem hospital is what was felt. My loved one walked in with profuse bleeding from an injury on his job. I came to support him and saw he was in distress. The only three people that were very kind professionals were the little sweet elderly Filipino medical reception staff, an upper middle aged black nurse in the back of triage, and a middle aged white PA in fast track. Disappointed that most of the poor patient care came from triage.
The experience was stressful and sad. Training needs to be done on caring for patients from the beginning to the end of a visit. The tone in how one speaks to the patient and their loved ones matter.
Harlem deserves better people service and more caring professionals we are people and we deserve quality care.

Hospital showed lack of care , came in with a couple of things , including a cut in the face that I could have gotten stitches if they even bothered to look , now I have a bigger mark in my face than if they would have taken care of it, the patient treatment was really poor 11

Just horrid service here, no one ever answers the phone on the 14th floor poor operator Sheryl tried every number available to her including charge nurse and still no answer. Guest relations also just passes me off back to the operator and says they should try another number/extension. Its just sad that my mom is even here considering the poor quality in service. Tax dollars at work here. What a joke...

AYo siempre eh visitado este hospital ahora estoy muy disgustada . Hicieron una negligencia médica conmigo . Tengo mala salud y hace 15años me sometí a la operación Bariátrica ellos sabían que tenía mala la Vecicula y yo siempre reclamando porque no me operan si saben que no tiene remedio . Pero no para ellos fue más importante recetar pastillas que operar a consecuencias de esto la vesícula se abrió y perforó mi intestino . Tuvieron que abrir mi estómago ahora el hospital no tienen cita pera verme y dar mis medicamentos hasta Febrero .Yo no puedo esperar hasta esa fecha sin medicamentos.

Emergency room nurses are unprofessional. Bonifia Sewards and Sherise Kristina V. Bunch violated my HIPPA rights on multiple occasions. Please be aware of the caliber of nurses NYCHHC hires! The reputation young nurses have earned is horrible. They are there to collect check and violate patients records that aren’t their patients. Everyone needs to be sure to report poor nursing behavior to the nursing board as I have.

Terrible hospital especially the 13th floor. The nurses are terrible and lack of professionalism. They do not attend to the patients need's especially when they have those with the trach tubes in their throats and need to be suctioned. It damn near took almost 2 hours for someone to come suction and clean my brothers trach tube and area around it. This hospital is terrible and needs all new staff on that floor who are professional and care for the patients.
