New York City, 5100 Kings Plz, Brooklyn, NY 11234

If you are looking for the definitive shopping destination in South Brooklyn, Kings Plaza Shopping Center is a massive, multi-level indoor mall that has served as a neighborhood landmark for decades. Located at the busy intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U, it is the largest shopping center in the borough, offering a climate-controlled experience that is particularly popular during New York's humid summers and cold winters.

The mall features a comprehensive mix of over 120 stores, anchored by major retailers like Macy’s, Primark, Zara, and Target. It is widely considered a trend-focused hub, with a heavy concentration of popular fashion brands including H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy, and Adidas. Whether you are shopping for the latest tech at the Apple Store or looking for specialized beauty products at Sephora, the variety ensures you can handle an entire season's worth of shopping in one visit.

Beyond the retail therapy, the center is a significant social space for the Mill Basin and Marine Park communities. The food court offers a wide range of quick-service staples, and the overall layout is designed for high-volume foot traffic. One of the most convenient features for Brooklynites is the large multi-story parking garage, which provides a rare respite from the borough’s notoriously difficult street parking. It is a bustling, high-energy environment that remains a cornerstone of the 11234 zip code.

Expert Opinions

Retail analysts and local urban experts often highlight the mall's resilience and its strategic role in the Brooklyn economy.

Retail Evolution: Market analysts note that the mall has successfully pivoted away from traditional department stores toward "fast-fashion" and high-demand anchors like Primark, keeping it relevant to a younger demographic.

Transit Hub: Urban planners frequently point to the mall's unique status as a private retail center that functions as a major public bus terminus, making it exceptionally accessible to residents across Southern Brooklyn.

Economic Anchor: Business reviewers highlight its role as one of the largest employers in the area, providing thousands of jobs and serving as a critical commercial driver for the Flatbush Avenue corridor.

Estimated Prices

Kings Plaza covers a broad spectrum of price points, from extreme value to mid-range luxury:

Casual Dining & Snacks: Most food court meals and specialty treats range from $12–$20.

Value Fashion: Budget-friendly retailers like Primark and Old Navy often have items starting as low as $5–$25.

Mid-Range Retail: Apparel and footwear at specialty stores typically fall between $45–$130.

Major Electronics: National brands follow standard MSRP pricing, with flagship products generally ranging from $400–$1,200.

Business Hours

The shopping center maintains consistent hours throughout the week, with a slightly later start on Sundays:

Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Note: Individual department stores and the parking garage may have slightly different operating schedules.)

Kings Plaza Shopping Center is a great place for shopping and spending time with family or friends. The mall has a wide variety of stores, from popular brands to smaller specialty shops, so there’s something for everyone. It’s clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The food court offers plenty of options, and there are also some nice spots to relax after shopping. The parking is convenient, which makes the visit even more comfortable.

The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, and the staff in most stores are friendly and helpful.

Overall: A convenient and enjoyable shopping destination with great variety and a welcoming environment.

One of the best shopping malls in entire NYC. But as you can see, I put three stars only. That’s because of two issues.
First one is parking, their new system works very bad, I have AT&T, and when I’m leaving in the parking, I need to pay over the Internet, but I don’t have service there!
The second problem is Lids store. Guy who works there is the worst employee in the world. Never cares about customers.

When you visit this place, definitely do not enter the Boss store. They have stationed two women out front who seem to be standing at the display stand solely to pick fights with customers. I really wonder: did such a major brand have to search high and low just to find people like this? The sole reason I refuse to shop here is the disrespectful staff.

The parking here sucks. They’ve changed the parking system. You have to scan a QR code and they charge you $10 for 10 mins of parking which used to be free if you left out by then. Find parking on the street instead

Haven’t been here in years. Used to be a dump, but not anymore. Really clean, modern looking mall. Upscale stores now, lots of security. Lots of long lines, too. But it looks great. And you find the same stores here as you would on Long Island. They really managed to modernize it, very nicely.

The security guards kicked me out because I had my bike with me, even though my bike wasn't causing any trouble. I hope this place burns.

When I walked in I was greeted by the best smiling face, most pleasant voice that was Recheina. She understood what I was looking for, she took me around and have me take my time to make up my mind. I really had to return to get what I needed. Thank you Recheina for your hospitality.

Be careful of this place. I used to come here all the time and hang out with my friends here when we were high schoolers (teenagers). Many students did too and rarely were there troublemakers, but the past years, I notice this place has gotten worse and worse. I don't know how there's so many positive reviews here so maybe my experience is just paranoia and case-by-case scenario but so many of my friends who are also native Brooklyn people told me so much bad stuff happening in this place. The young folks and even older folks who chill here now have no filter. If you get harassed, you get harassed. You can even get robbed, mugged, or if someone is doing some one-off dangerous stunt, you could be seriously injured; watch those TikTok videos and IG Reels that are posted everywhere. It's ridiculous.

The last time I went here in broad daylight to pick up a gaming console at Best Buy, I was so paranoid that I bagged it in a super thick bedsheet and had 2 male friends with me. I was patroning Kings Plaza since I was a kid in the 90s. This mall made huge improvements aesthetically and even offer a good variety of stores, but it no longer feels safe here. If you ask me if I'd ever come here again, I wouldn't and haven't.

Every other mall between brooklyn and Long Island you don’t have to pay for parking and funny enough you have to pay for parking at KP mall…imagine if you spent over four hours on the mall you have to pay $11 dollars that’s high way robbery

There are a lot of store inside Kings plaza mall, but there's nothing great to buy in there that you can't get at a regular clothing store or sneakers store!
The food inside they don't taste that great at all.
The prices are truly to high!!
