TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

My wife broke both wrists resulting in compound fractures to both of them. I brought her to Concord Hospital in Laconia early at night. A full evaluation was done there and an ambulance transfer to Concord occured due to severity of the damage to her wrists. Surgery on both wrists was performed at the Concord facility. All the staff at both locations were professional, caring, courteous and genuinely concerned about my wife's situation. I was kept informed throughout the entire ordeal. Arrangements were made so I could stay with her in her room the night after surgery. The level of care was top notch as were all the staff involved. The process was fast, efficient and left us feeling we were in the best hands for the care needed. Post op procedures were thorough and pain management was also excellent. Now that it's over we feel this hospital facility and staff are great and would struggle to identify anything that could be improved.

We feel so thankful to have such exceptional medical services close to home. From volunteers to housekeeping, to nurses, caseworkers, doctors and surgeons. Concord Hospital has some of the most skilled, compassionate and caring professionals. They are deeply dedicated to helping my mom get better everyday!

Everyone here took such good care of me during my stay after a car accident. I felt valued and cared for as a patient and as a human being the entire time. I can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness and dedication.

The food was also excellent, and both rooms I stayed in (ICU and 6 North Surgery Care) were top-of-the-line. It felt like a hotel. I can’t recommend Concord Hospital and its staff enough.

I had knee surgery this week, Nov 26, and the staff and doctors were outstanding! Dr Casey and his team provided the best care and their interactions were courteous, helpful and very positive. The nurses in recovery were extremely caring and professional. Shannon, Bri and the 6th floor team expertly took care of every detail. Very impressed with the level of care and the precision of their expertise which will have me back on my feet very quickly. Thanks to all! Happy Holidays

In Jan. '21, I had a sports injury which normally would have resulted in surgery (Achilles tendon {AT} rupture). COVID was raging & the surgery was postponed 3x, until finally, in April, it was deemed "too late" for surgical repair by Concord Orthopedics. I finally started PT after 4 long months of waiting. Result? The AT healed in an elongated manner, leaving me with a wasted calf, poor balance, weakened, unsupportive ankle, & a limp. 20 months later (11/23), after careful consideration, I went to the Mecca of orthopedic care (Mass General) and just had my AT surgically repaired. I don't blame Concord Orthopedics for this inaction ; my dr there was as frustrated as I was with the hospital's aversion to care for orthopedic injuries. It was the hospital's decision; apparently my surgery was not deemed critical enough to undertake during COVID. Their decision (or lack thereof ) cost me the better part of a year to regain my ability to walk...abnormally so. I'm hoping for a solid outcome now that I've had the corrective surgery (even though it'll take me another year to regain full mobility)... And I hope CH rethinks permissions for certain surgeries & procedures during critical time periods, so they can better navigate successful, long term outcomes for their patients and to halt their customers from seeking care at alternative regional medical facilities. All this being said, I have been extremely happy with the care outside of this incident at CH & would not hesitate for a minute to seek medical care by their providers or at their facility. If I were to rate them outside of this incident, it would be 4 Stars.

After testing positive for Covid 19 and waiting 6+ hours in the emergency room waiting area, he still hasn’t been seen by a doctor or nurse. Keep in mind there are others waiting to be seen in the same waiting area as my “Covid positive” son. He’s having difficulty breathing!!! Still not taken from the waiting room and segregated or seen by a doctor. One of my local hospitals is Rhode Island Hospital..I wouldn’t wish that on my enemy but this Hospital closely compares. Very disappointed and will await results to determine what our next steps are.

Initially I came here with suspicion of me having an active heart attack. I came in and said shortness of breath, chest pain, jaw pain, visibly sweating, etc. They take you back to give you an iv, ekg then eventually a X-ray and ct scan. So you think ok well we are getting somewhere but I feel that most of this is insurance fraud because not everyone needs all of these tests before you’re even called back to get a room, right? But whatever on the other hand I’m thinking ok that’s less results I will have to wait on when I do get called back in a room, if that time ever comes. You then get registered right there in the waiting room in front of everyone just saying all of your personal info out loud which I also felt was very strange because is hipaa not a thing anymore? Not to mention restrooms are absolutely disgusting! No hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper and blood on the floors. Just very unsanitary.

Anyways, I wait…and wait….and wait 4.5 hrs at which time other patients see me in discomfort and offer to cut in front of them if they ever get called. I finally go up to the desk basically in tears and ask how much longer do I have to wait. The lady states there are 9 people in front of me but she thinks some left so probably 6 people. I ask if they have a hospital that they share records with and they told me that I could go to Laconia which is about 45 mins away and make me sign a paper that I’m leaving ama.

I go to Laconia where I am immediately seen and it is confirmed I am actually having a freaking heart attack. But they are not equipped to deal with such issues so I had to be transported back to concord for the cath lab and to be admitted. Once upstairs I did in fact receive great care by the drs and nurses, everyone really. But the fact that the er is so poorly ran and I was sitting there hrs while having a heart attack absolutely is baffling to me. In fact it could have been a matter of life and death in my case.

I hope that they find a better way to organize and prioritize their patients. This is absolutely not acceptable in any way.

Wrote a review a few years ago . This place is still the same in the worst ways. Humans are not treated like human beings here . This hospital is dirty , poorly run , staff are unprofessional, the carpets smell and are stained. I left after 2 hours and not even a glance my way and went to Parkland medical center which is amazing ! I was out in less than an hour. I will never give this ER another chance .

The doctor was nice, but the charges are horrific. I was never given the option to go a lab aside from theirs. As a result, the fees were MASSIVE for very basic lab draws. And they won’t do anything about it. I was shocked. A word of caution: ask to have a lab order so you can go to an offsite lab, otherwise you’ll be stuck with a $500.00 bill for a preventive visit. So much for price transparency. Really disappointing when you’re trying to be proactive about your health.

This place is such a joke now! Can’t even get anyone to answer the damn phone! And when they do they act like you owe them a favor for answering.. waste of time!!

If you value your child’s life choose somewhere else. I very patiently and understandingly waited in the waiting room with my 4 month old for 5.5 hours yesterday only for them to send him home dehydrated and for him to wake up lethargic the next morning. The “doctor” did not even assess his lungs (sick with a fever of 104) , fontanelle…. Nothing. THEY DIDN'T EVEN RECHECK HIS TEMPERATURE THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. They Swabbed him. Said it was negative and then sent him home. No explanation as to why my 4 month old spiked a fever of 104, no Labs to check his WBC for infection. He had no wet diaper for 8 Hours by the time he left and the doctor said “yeah that’s concerning but if he has a fever of 104 then he probably won’t want to eat”. The care level here is absolutely disgusting. I personally can’t WAIT to report the doctors license to the board for their negligence as soon as I can leave the next hospital I now have to go visit.

Been here twice this week after a car accident, been made to sit in the waiting room waiting for a room, and was given a chair in a hallway, where every other patient can hear me amd my doctor and I can hear them and their doctor. All after 6 hours of waiting with intense back pain in a rickety hospital chair. They truly ignore everyone but kids and elderly, if you’re in your twenties they think you want drugs. I was told no pain meds when I didn’t even ask for any. Was telling them what hurt at the time. Absolutely wild, this is the worst hospital I’ve been to. It’s been this way for years. HIPAA doesn’t exist here. Cleanliness doesn’t exist here, empathy doesn’t exist here.
