In the chic, sun-soaked corridor between Aventura and Hollywood, Cilantro Asian Bistro at 1719 E Hallandale Beach Blvd stands as a sophisticated "culinary bridge." While Hallandale Beach Boulevard is often a blur of traffic and high-rises, Cilantro provides a serene, dimly lit sanctuary where the vibrant energy of Bangkok meets the refined precision of Tokyo.
The "Aromatic Intersection"
The name "Cilantro" is a nod to the herb that binds almost all Asian cuisines together, and the restaurant lives up to that namesake by acting as a harmonizer. The interior strikes a "Modern-Zen" balance—minimalist wood accents, warm lighting, and an atmosphere that feels upscale enough for a date night but relaxed enough for a post-beach dinner.
Why Cilantro is a Hallandale Favorite
The Pan-Asian "Greatest Hits": Cilantro doesn't force you to choose between regions. Their menu is a curated journey through the Far East, featuring everything from silky Thai Curries and spicy Basil Noodles to high-grade Japanese Sashimi. It is the ultimate destination for groups with diverse cravings.
The Sushi Art Gallery: The sushi bar is the heart of the operation. The chefs here are known for their "Western-Fusion" creativity—think rolls topped with truffle oil, micro-greens, and complex house-made sauces that elevate a simple tuna roll into a multi-layered flavor profile.
The "Wok-to-Table" Freshness: Unlike the heavy, sauce-laden dishes found in standard takeout spots, Cilantro emphasizes the "crunch." Their stir-fries are famous for preserving the vibrant color and snap of the vegetables, balanced with high-quality proteins and house-made stocks.
The Sake & Cocktail Culture: To round out the "Bistro" experience, they offer a sophisticated beverage program. From chilled, premium sakes to creative cocktails infused with lychee and ginger, the bar is a destination in itself for the Hallandale "after-five" crowd.
A Neighborhood Secret in Plain Sight
Cilantro Asian Bistro represents the "New Hallandale"—a city that is increasingly global, polished, and hungry for quality. It’s a place where the service is attentive without being intrusive, and where the "Bistro" label truly fits: it’s fast, fresh, and remarkably consistent. Whether you’re stopping in for a $15 lunch special or a lingering multi-course dinner, you’re experiencing one of the most reliable flavor anchors in Broward County.

- So growing up Asian in a diverse big city and having lived in South Florida before, I knew I needed to temper my expectations. Cilantro is an Asian Bistro, so there isn't really one region specialty. The decor could have been for any other style restaurant, too. The server was pleasant and attentive. The menu is extensive. It's a generally good asian food place. I had the red curry with chicken. It was generously sized and the chicken was tender. The Garlic Tofu- steamed. The dish was generously sized, more than enough for one person, and correctly seasoned. It tasted good- as expected. For rice snobs- their Jasmine rice and brown rice was good. We'd go again, because it satisfies when you've got an Asian food craving.
- Dayana was an amazing waiter. She took her time explaining the menu and spice levels. She went out her way to make sure me and my husband were taken care of throughout the entire service. I would come back just based off of her customer service ! the food was definitely amazing as well I give this place a 10/10. Atmosphere was so cute I recommend sitting outside on a nice evening night
- This restaurant is located in what is now a busy plaza, it gets crowded at times. The waitress was really nice and attentive, food was delicious, we ordered Edamames as appetizer, Crab Fried Rice and Volcano Sushi Roll for the main course, the Crab Fried Rice was super flavorful and cooked perfectly, also I can tell you they use real crab, not the imitation, the Volcano Roll was a surprise to me, it was a real explosion of seafood on top of the roll topped with tempura crumbs and eel sauce, super delicious. After that meal did not have any space for dessert, next time I will go for Ice Cream Tempura, it looks good.
They also offer a Lunch Menu until 3:00pm. Recommended place in Hallandale. Update: Came back to have lunch and tried the Green Curry Shrimp, it was delicious, all the flavors were easily identifiable, the coconut milk adds that sweetness that the curry needs, also had Pad Thai, it was really good too. To finish lunch ordered a new item on the menu, the Tempura Cheesecake with Ice Cream, super delicious, not a fan of Cheesecake but this one made me a believer.
