Well... I went to the orthopedics department with "doctor" Dias and from the moment I went to the waiting room they ordered x-rays without knowing about my condition, which I refused because I needed an MRI. Already in the consultation, the doctor "suggested x-rays again and this time in order not to be rude and try to get his attention, I accepted. After he suggested surgery, I refused and he left the consultation cursing in English, assuming that I did not understand him and he made a mistake." By taking it for granted, because I did not accept the treatment. I felt discriminated against, I felt like a commodity and I plan to report it.

In the administration they are thieves. On June 29, 2023, my mother's dental prostheses were lost (they cost $2000). She spent almost a year claiming and presenting evidence. The hospital's strategy was to change the people who cared for me and then ignore my visits and emails. They are very good at taking money out of your pocket, but they do not assume their responsibilities.

Whatever you do, DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to give 1 star because there's no way to enter a review without one, but this is the worst hospital EVER.

My grandmother went a few years ago and they misdiagnosed her. Because the service was so terrible, we transferred her to another hospital, where they diagnosed an abdominal aneurysm and performed emergency surgery to save her life. Had she been admitted to Palmetto, she wouldn't be alive today.

This past weekend, my mother was taken there by fire rescue (because it's the nearest hospital to her home) for a hip fracture.
The nurse was MIA for at least an hour, and despite that I kept asking for her, no one knew where she was. Worst of all, not ONE of the persons I asked what I needed, or what they could do to help. Y mom ended up urinating all over herself on the bed, and was like that until the nurse decided to finally show up. When she did, she told us the external urinary catheter machine in that room was not working, and the rooms which did have functioning ones were all taken, so she'd have to "stay like that for now"!!!!!

Ironically, when I told them we wanted her transferred to another hospital, they tried repeatedly to convince me otherwise.

When I asked about obtaining her medical records for the new hospital, they told me I'd have to "call medical records"!!!!!

I will say that the ER doctor was very kind and helpful, but the rest of the staff, and the hospital itself (everything is old and the room was smelly), are awful.

I wouldn't recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.

Worst place I’ve ever been to. My girflfriend needed to go register for her baby delivery and they’ve made us come back twice because the lady is never there. I went again yesterday and they had me walk with my 37 week pregnant girlfriend so over the hospital various times. Supposedly a Henry was going to help us after tryingeverywhere with everyone and once we get to Henry’s admission, he tells us to come back tomorrow. Horrible place. I will not be having our baby’s birth there

I wish they had a 0 , if you don’t want your family to suffer, avoid this hospital, brought my grandpa here and is horrible, he is been screaming of pain for 2 day and they ignored us, when I got mad and ask the doctor he said he is under the impression that the family doesn’t want pain medicine, after they have been telling us that because he came in with low blood pressure they couldn’t give any more pain med , the low blood pressure was 4 days ago and his pressure is been good since. I work in the medical field and I want to bring my pt to palmetto, but I am done with palmetto.#Stewardhospital looks like you want to close all your hospitals

Avoid! Long wait, underpaid staff, dirty ER. HCA hospitals don't pay their staff and no one cares about working, much less the patients. Husband recently went in for a really bad cough/cold since he missed Urgent Care due to working long hours, and he spent over 6 hours there. It's a shame that such a reputable hospital has fallen into such mismanagement.

Palmero general has a lot of caching up to do with other hospitals . Especially when it comes to certain regulations about visiting hours and primary caregivers having the ability to access the patient and their loved ones now with that said the ccu team on the second floor outstanding patient service . it very unfortunate that the overall experience Is not the same all the way around
And furthermore Called administration and never had the opportunity to talk to any one about the experience I had

I recently had a very unpleasant experience at this hospital when my mother underwent a mastectomy. To put it bluntly, the cleanliness and hygiene standards were appalling. Not only was my mother's room dirty, but the bed had not been disinfected from the previous patient and there were still visible blood stains. It took two nights for them to finally clean the room, and even then, the bathroom was still filthy with feces splattered all over the toilet. The cleaning staff only came by once during our three-day stay, and they barely did anything. The whole situation was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for a hospital. To make matters worse, the woman who checked us in was incredibly rude and seemed to be on a power trip. She told us that only two people were allowed in the room at a time, but then made an exception for my mother because she had a private room. She spoke down to me and made sure I understood her, which was completely unnecessary. The lack of basic amenities was also very concerning. My mother didn't even have coffee because they didn't have any coffee filters. And the breakfast they served was just juice, oatmeal, and pudding. Our family had to bring food and coffee for her every day. While some of the nurses were kind and attentive, the majority of the staff seemed unhappy and miserable. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

My grandma came in in February and she was treated terribly by the nurses. They didn't care that they were not gentle with her and she was bruised up from too many blood test.

We are back now since Sunday and it hasn't changed. They take forever to help and are still as brutish as ever. They fed her several pills at a time instead of one by one. They left a dirty pooped banana on the seat next to her. The nurses took forever to change her and she's laying there in pain and dirty.

They seem to have an attitude as well if you ask them to be gentler and it seems she pays the price in treatment as they take forever to
assist her

As I was in the waiting room, a woman ran in screaming that her father fell by the hill that leads up to the waiting room. The nurses came out calmly with no rush as the poor guy was laying on the floor. Terrible thing to do considering it's already a hospital. I do not understand how this is not treated with more care and urgency. Don't take your loved one to this hospital. There's a reason this place has the stars it does.

Notice the good reviews are only for one specific nurse. Not for the hospital itself.

I went through emergency and saw a roach, following it was the food cart. Then I went through Maternity due to preeclampsia, I was put on a birthing bed for two days… It wasn’t until one of the nurses noticed that she changed my bed to make me a bit more comfortable but by then my back was hurting very badly. I was put on Magnesium after my csection and had a bad reaction to it. I asked the nurse to please take me off of it but was taken off hours later, I ended up with a fever and with diplopia. Also, one of the nurses in the NICU was so rough with my baby and also made fun of her last name. It was so unbelievably rude.

My experience with the Neurology Department at Palmetto Hospital has been exceptionally positive, a testament to their unwavering professionalism and dedication. From the outset, every interaction with the department's staff specially RUXAY RIVERA AND MARIELYS RAVELO have marked by a high level of expertise, thoroughness, and respect. The team's approach to care is both comprehensive and cutting-edge, ensuring that my dad receive the best possible treatment tailored to their unique needs. Their commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in neurology is evident in their practice, benefiting patients with the most current and effective interventions. Moreover, the department's attentiveness and ability to communicate complex medical information in an understandable way have greatly contributed to a trusting and reassuring patient experience. The staff's coordination, from scheduling to follow-up, reflects a well-organized and patient-centered environment. I am deeply appreciative of the professionalism and exceptional care provided by the Neurology Department at Palmetto Hospital. Their dedication not only to their field but also to the well-being of my dad is truly commendable. Thank you for making a significant difference in my dad health journey. When I arrive to the hospital I did not expected my dad to survived from another bleeding in the brain thank to neuro team AS LONG WITH DOCTOR LABRADA my dad is able to go back home and i will have more years to enjoy him thank you again for all the help.

I cannot express enough gratitude for Nurse Neylin Escandon, who provided exemplary care to my father during a particularly challenging time from May through May 14, while he was in a coma. Neylin's professionalism and compassion were evident in every interaction. She consistently demonstrated patience, attentiveness, and a deep understanding of our concerns and my father's medical needs. Her presence was a comfort not only to my dad but to our entire family, making a difficult period more bearable. From May 5 to May 14, when I was able to be at the hospital, the attention and respect shown by the medical team, especially in respecting my decision to keep my dad on life support, were immensely comforting during this devastating time. Neylin's dedication to her patients is truly commendable, and we are profoundly thankful for her support and expert care.

This was my first time at Palmetto hospital and I am very impressed with the service I received. From beginning to end it was exceptional. The Regiatration personnel, the manager who walked me all the way to the area I was suppose to be at, the nurses in PAT, and the Tech in IR and of course Orlando RN, you guys are amazing. Honestly I was scared but you all made me feel comfortable. I was so comfortable that I was in pain and forgot to ask for pain medication lol. My Dr as always amazing Dr Mehta and your team. I was glad I went there for my procedure. Thank you all.

I can't understand how it's possible for a hospital where they charge you so much money for being hospitalized to be in these conditions. It seems disrespectful that people pays so much money to a hospital and it has zero hygiene. This hospital should be shut down by the city.

There was a time long, long ago the Palmetto General Hospital was a premier Medical Facility. Now it's the worst ever! Both Medical Plaza are in a deplorable state. They're unkempt, to the point that of the 3 elevators in the 7150 building, none of them were working.. The eldery and handicap were unable to reach the offices of their respective physicians. Tenet was bad and Stewart is worse. It's a shame because the many practicing professionals that have office in these Medical Building are the best in Florida.
