In August 2015, we cut the ribbon on a newly renovated Newark Community Health Centers’ Headquarters and Medical Complex located at 741 Broadway in the North Ward of Newark. The new state-of-the-art $12 million facility will allow for greater accessibility of healthcare by accommodating more than 65,000 annual visits from the residents of Newark and the surrounding communities and will expand on much-needed services such as Obstetrics/Gynecology and Adult and Pediatric Dental care, so that we can more effectively combat persistent issues such as disproportionately high infant mortality rates, diabetes, and asthma in the communities we serve.

TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

The staff and doctors are amazing. So patient, caring, dedicated and knowledgeable. Wish i found this place earlier. Thank you so much Miss Kim, Ms Maria and Dr. Joanna for your amazing care.

My mom has been a patient here for over 15 years and she is always well taken care of by the staff. In the most recent occasion, Maria Galvis who is the administrator of this location, went above and beyond for her. Long story short, my mom had a very painful skin rash on her leg and needed to see her dermatologist but her insurance requires a referral. We ran over to see her doctor at NCHC the same day and Maria arranged for the appointment as well as the referral to be issued right away. She also had it emailed directly to the dermatologist’s office making the entire process a lot smoother. Her attention and dedication to the patients shows every time she helps my mom out. We are truly grateful for her.

So I hadn’t been to the doctor in years, let alone had a primary care doctor in even longer. But I went in to see Dr. Johnson and she changed my life and perspective forever. Truly. I am 25 years old and I went in with physical health concerns, but she saw my mental health needed attention first and foremost. She showed empathy and directed me to professionals and followed up with me a week later for my checkup. I felt understood, seen and safe. Which is all anyone can ever wish for when seeking health care and advice. My only complaint or forewarning would be the wait time, expect to be seen maybe 45 after your appointment time. But if every doctor there is this mindful, I understand the wait and do not mind it one bit. They are there for the community.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I always have a negative experience with them. Staff tells me to wait on hold and just hangs up, happened 3 times. They don’t call you back. I don’t know who answers the phones here but they need new receptionist. Not to mention you can make an appointment and still have to wait 3 hours to be called.

After 4 years I didn't attended to this clinic I asked the doctor for a written prescription but she denied it to me saying she was afraid to loose her licensee to practice medecine if she would have done it and that only electronically is done at the moment, in other words, the patients have to buy the prescription medication at the fharmacy they dictate and even paying fort a service you're not allow to get a written prescription.
