It’s got that classic nautical theme, but since it’s part of the Village, it feels a bit more modern and spacious than some of the older, cramped locations you might find in other parts of the city.
One of the biggest perks of this specific location is the underground parking. If you’ve ever tried to park at a Trader Joe’s in LA, you know it’s usually a nightmare, but here they have a huge shared garage with plenty of validation-friendly spots. It makes it way easier to pop in for your "Two-Buck Chuck," frozen orange chicken, or those addictive chili lime rolled corn chips without circling the block for twenty minutes. Plus, being right next to Target and a bunch of cool cafes means you can knock out all your errands in one go.
Because it’s a college-town store, the energy is always high, and the shelves are constantly being restocked with the good stuff. They carry a massive selection of affordable organic produce, unique seasonal items (keep an eye out for the pumpkin spice everything in the fall), and a great wine and beer aisle. It’s also a lifesaver for quick, healthy meals; their pre-made salads and microwaveable Indian dishes are basically a staple diet for half the people living in the dorms nearby.
The staff here are super chill and actually seem like they want to be there, which makes a big difference when the lines get long. They’re open every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, so whether you’re fueling up before an early lecture or grabbing snacks for a late-night study session, they’ve got you covered. Just a heads up: it can get a little frantic on Sunday evenings when everyone is prepping for the week, so try hitting it up on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning if you want the aisles all to yourself.
